Pisces can be found just south of the constellation of Andromeda. Pisces has a relatively easy shape to identify but you will need a fairly dark sky in order to pick out its stars that are all very dim. According to the ancient Greeks, the constellation Pisces represents two fishes facing each other in Ying-Yang fashion. Pisces is a totally non-symetrical constellation proving once again that the Greeks had a great imagination.
If you happen to be looking at the Pisces area through a telescope, don't miss M74 which is next to eta Piscium. M74 is a spiral galaxy similar to both our own Milky Way galaxy and M31 that is viewed "head on" so that its two arms can be clearly seen.
