SkyTour - Gemini - The Twins

Lepus Canis Major

Gemini is known as the "twins" and can be found just beyond the reach of Orion's up stretched arm. This constellation is known as the twin because of its remarkable symmetry. One side of the constellation is a mirror image of the other.

The two brightest stars of Gemini are alpha and beta Geminorum whose names are: Castor and Pollux. They appear bright because they are relatively close to us: only 45 and 36 light years away from us.

Gemini is one of the brightest constellations of the Zodiac.
