SkyTour - Aries - The Ram

Cassiopeia Cetus

Aries is one of the constellations of the Zodiac and is included here for completeness sake. It has only two bright stars alpha Arietis and beta Arietis of magnitudes 2.1 and 2.7 respectively and is located near Pisces.

Aries was originally considered the first of the Zodiac’s constellation because it was the location of the spring equinox where the Sun crosses the equator from South to North and Spring starts. This point is now located in the constellation of Pisces.

The ram of Aries was the source of the Golden Fleece pursued by Jason and the Argonauts.
